The FUNdamentals program for U5–U6 players is designed to give our youngest players a joyful and confidence-building first experience of the game.

Centred around the Play Phase philosophy, it focuses on learning through play in small-sided formats like 2v2 and 3v3, where every child gets maximum touches, plenty of goal scoring chances, and opportunities to try different roles. 

Sessions are filled with imaginative games, guided exploration, and simple challenges that encourage creativity, decision-making, and teamwork, all in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Coaches act as facilitators rather than instructors, using open-ended questions and praise to help children discover “what I can do with the ball” and “where I can move it,” building both skills and a lifelong love for soccer. Above all, FUNdamentals is about fun first – because if they’re smiling, they’re learning.
